Roanoke Trade’s Amanda Barlow Appointed to the District Export Council of Southern CaliforniaRoanoke is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Amanda Barlow, Vice President of ATA Carnet for Roanoke Insurance Group Inc., to the District Export Council of Southern California (DECSC), one of more than 60 DECs that exist throughout the country to support the U.S. Government’s export promotion efforts. Amanda joins fellow Roanoke colleague, Theresa Garcia, as a DEC member.

ATA Carnet Cargo Insurance – Risk Protection for Temporary Imports

ATA Carnet use is growing internationally and for good reason. More and more logistics service providers and shippers are coming to understand the benefits of the carnet. Temporary importation shipments carry unique risks and challenges. Foreign countries have their own documentation requirements to clear customs and related security requirements, and they often require these documents in their native languages and their local currencies.

The Ins and Outs of ATA Carnets Webinar

An ATA Carnet is an international customs document that provides duty-free customs clearance for temporary exports to over 100 countries. ATA Carnets simplify these temporary exports by eliminating the need to post a temporary import bond or pay the import duties and taxes to enter a foreign country. Virtually all goods, weather hand carried or cargo-shipped, may be covered by an ATA Carnet.

Roanoke Trade Contributes to Milestone Number of ATA Carnets Issued in 2016

2017 has gotten off to quite a start celebrating an all-time ATA Carnet high of over 20,000 ATA Carnet documents issued in 2016. Roanoke Trade and its partners contributed to more than half of these ATA Carnets issued in the United States. This makes Roanoke Trade the largest ATA Carnet provider in the U.S., all thanks to our very loyal and supportive customers.

World Maritime Day Celebrates the All-Importance of Shipping IndustryCelebrated this year on September 29, Worldwide Maritime Day, an official United Nations day, put the spotlight on the importance of shipping and maritime activities around the globe. This year’s theme, “Shipping: Indispensable to the World,” focused on the critical link between shipping and the everyday lives of people throughout the world.

Approximately 80% percent of global trade by volume and over 70% of global trade by value are carried by sea and are handled by ports worldwide, according to the United Nations Conference on Trade & Development.
